"Classroom of De Stijl"

I feel like a baby.

B A B

B Y

Older.

Older Prettier

Redder

Bigger Fatter

All tatted up like you've been somewhere

like you've "seen things"

big foreheads and big wrinkles

or that one forehead covered pristinely

with her bangs and her red lips and she

looks

so

old

but pretty

but old

but

why the hell you here.

He's speaking with an accent!
Get out of here

GO!

G O

Is it that or your deep voice. Or his

bald head under his bowler hat

and her fluffy fancy outfits

lacey

noir

red lips.

Maybe they'll tell me how to say "Mommy wow"

and I'll see how you stole big kid from me now.

I'm the baby big kid

big kid baby

or just the

big baby kid

And you look huge
and you limbo
on my education
on my time
on my walk
on my voice
in
my place
me

Where are my babies.

Seeing Sounds

via UCLA-ITS Technology Blog

"Need a unique gift for someone in your life? Check out The Sound Advice Project! The Sound Advice Project takes your choice of words and creates a tangible, wearable keepsake by mimicking the shape of the soundwaves of your voice with beads.

Originally created as outlet for parents to encourage and support a drug-free lifestyle for their children, there is no limit to the sentiments you can record and display as a bracelet. And with a selection of different bead and cord colors, it's a fashionable choice, too. Priced at $25." {http://www.thesoundadviceproject.com/}

Francisco Garcia for me, Photography for you

This is one of his shots for the f/w 09 Talula campaign, modeled by Rachel at MUSE NYC.
I dig this style of shooting, which if you get a chance to see the rest of the shots , you might agree with me that it's very reminiscent of Juergen Teller. A little more demure (but then again I have yet to see the rest of Garcia's works hahah)

Besides that, I've been wanting one of those vests since a long time now. The hair is good and so is the quilted leather couch.

Pretty soon my co-conspirators and I at the UCLA Cultural Affairs Commission-Art Series will
be heading up a blog regarding all things relevant to Art in LA. We're thinking about calling it "Art LA"-- let me know if you have other suggestions. Until then, let this be your source of updates. So here's the latest:

"Art is not a thing; it is a way."

Things that came up today:
  • Sam Sparro "Black and Gold"
  • Matisyahu "King Without A Crown (Live)"
  • John Legend "I Can Change ft. Snoop Dogg"
  • "decorating" the drunk and passed out
  • don't pass out with your shoes on
  • Constructivist art movement
  • Degrassi
  • Cultural Affairs Commission UCLA Fall retreat
